Seaway Guardian

The 118-foot Seaway Guardian is a massive, muscular icebreaking tug operated by the Dept. of Transportation’s Seaway Development Corporation in the ice-choked St. Lawrence Seaway.

Tasked with icebreaking and barge-handling duties along the U.S.’s 100-mile stretch of the seaway, the Seaway Guardian is at regular risk of icing due to the region’s difficult climate conditions.

For this reason StableHeat was asked to install radiant heating elements to the ship’s decks, hatch drains, fire stations, and pipes.
